Dodson Wedding Highlights - Dripping Springs, TX

“Aiden, thank you for being the man you are, and the gentleman my Lily was looking for.” I’m not sure I’ve ever seen such a pure, sweet love from two people. Aiden and Lily began dating in high school, and the love they showed for each other on their wedding day felt just as sweet as if they were kids dating for the first time all over again. They chose New Year’s Eve (one of Aiden’s favorite holidays) as the perfect time to celebrate with their friends and family, many of whom had been there to watch them grow up together. I knew with a NYE wedding that there would be some fun editing opportunities, and I wanted to lean into the excitement of the countdown to also count down the start of their story. And when Aiden told me that he loved “Auld Lang Syne”, I knew I wanted to incorporate it into the video somehow. I love how sweet and tender this video ends, in a way that also reflects their relationship.

The day consisted of the dream team of Kristin Catter Events, Alyssa Jarae Photography, Premier Entertainment, Josh Klaus, and Poppy Florals, all set at the stunning Sacred Oaks at Camp Lucy. Congrats to the Dodsons!

Jurecka Wedding Highlights - Austin, TX

Fun fact: I went to a wedding at Camp Lucy nearly nine years ago when this place was nothing but a chapel and a pavilion. It was breathtaking then, and in the years since it has grown into one of the best wedding venues in all of Dripping Springs (aka the wedding capital of Texas, the best state in America, so basically one of the best wedding venues IN THE WORLD). Surprisingly this was my first time to film there not as a second shooter, and Elizabeth and Philip could not have made the day any more perfect. They were so easy to work with, and there was a sweetness about their relationship that was so beautiful to capture on camera. The wedding day was romantic, classy, and timeless, and it fit these two perfectly. Congrats to the newly Jureckas!

Jurecka Wedding Preview - Austin, TX

Part of the reason I do meetings with my clients before booking is to find out if we are a good fit. This is important for both myself AND my client, because I’m not going to be the right videographer for everybody and that’s ok! When Elizabeth reached out to me her wedding was only two months away. I asked why she had waited to find a videographer, and she said that she had been hesitant because she was a shy person and didn’t know how she would feel about having so many cameras on the wedding day. I was able to explain to her my process, which is what I call the “fly on the wall”, where I prefer to document things in a very natural and undirected way. I don’t like my presence to be too obvious, and I try to work around the photographer as much as possible to make sure that the presence of an extra camera isn’t overwhelming. I think my style and process was the right fit for Elizabeth, and apparently she thought so too because here we are! This girl knocked it out of the park and was so natural on camera. She and her husband were so sweet to work with throughout the day, and I can’t get over how cute they were on camera. Congrats to the Jureckas!
